Cybersecurity Month is Over. What Now?

Written by Kyler Mitchell | October 14, 2016 at 5:18 PM

As we all know by now, October was cybersecurity month. That means that, every year, we dedicate 31 days to cybersecurity awareness. And, in those 31 days, you probably received and/or read an influx of emails, tweets, articles and statistics—talk about overload!

But what about the other 334 days of the year? Do we just toss it to the side, and move on with our lives?

Unfortunately, too many people answer "yes" to that question. I say unfortunately because it is often those same people who end up in situations like this:

This just in... Company loses thousands in recent email heist

You know what I'm talking about; you've seen the headlines.

So the question that remains is... What can we do to protect ourselves from cybercrime throughout the remaining 334 days of the year?

Preparing for the next 11 months

Fortunately, there are resources like the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) that post content on cybersecurity all year round.

It hadn't happened yet, though, so...it was just another made-up possibility.
