“The move will improve the work-life balance for more than 50 percent of our staff,” said MainSpring President and COO Tom Keller. “With the majority of our team living and working in and around Frederick and Fort Detrick, it made the most sense to reduce their commute and make it easier for people to connect with each other. Plus, Frederick has embraced the technology movement and is becoming a hub for thought leaders in the industry. We’re excited to join the movement.”
Since 1993, Poolesville, Md., served as MainSpring’s headquarters, with additional offices in Florida, Ohio, Washington and Wisconsin. The firm supports a wide range of clients including businesses, nonprofits and government agencies, such as the Department of Defense, primarily at Fort Detrick, Md. Earlier this year, MainSpring earned a spot on a new Defense Logistics Agency’s contract that will allow the firm to provide a variety of technology consulting services in the U.S. and abroad.
Last year, MainSpring also opened a new office in Towson, Md., to provide better collaboration among local employees and clients. “While we fully embrace telecommuting and the concept of ‘working where you live,’ we also recognize the need to stay connected,” Keller said. “The move to Frederick, in particular, will allow us to do just that. Our folks work hard, share best practices and like to have fun. The new space is built to support those goals.”
